I will start by saying that Monica has been a crucial part of my weight loss journey (down 50 pounds) I contacted many trainers in the bay and I can 100% say SHE IS THE BEST. She starts you with a free assessment appointment. No other trainer I reached out to offered me that. I sat down with her for an hour to discuss my goals and what I wanted to focus on.This has been the best decision I've ever made. She's welcoming, she pushes you and she cares about your progress like no other. I love that she checks up with me when I'm not with her. Asking how I am, if I'm sore (which heck yes!) I love that she asks me if I'm missing anything from our sessions (examples I wanted more cardio for some days and boy did she make it happen!). I've had a handful of physical trainers throughout the years that have tried to help me reach my goals but none succeeded until Monica. Our first session we sat down and discussed what my goals were, what exercises I had trouble with in the past, and did basic lifts/movements to see where I was at. After our first session we REALLY got to work. We did movements that would then become a part of my own weekly workout when I didn't see her. She created a program WITH me that pushed me but was still attainable with my schedule and current skill. As I began to advance she tweaked what we were doing to continue to challenge and push me in our workouts. While with her, we would do specific toning and strengthening movements that were tough but showed great results. The mix between doing my at home program and working on specific exercises that targeted exactly what I needed to work on helped me exceed my goal earlier than expected or what I thought possible for me to do. We not once did any running... my goal was to get faster and in two months I went down a full minute on my mile and a half time!! I wanted to get better at sit-ups we did them maybe twice yet the exercises she challenged me to do built my muscles and allowed me to do twice as many as I had previously been able to do. The weights and exercises that targeted my shoulders have drastically improved my posture and shoulder strength, which was a huge goal of mine. She pushes you to put in the work and then shows you your improvements with measurements, before & after pictures, and ability to do what you couldn't before. Monica explains what the movement/exercises are, shows you how to do them, and explains exactly what it's strengthening so that you know how to do it on your own. Truly I can say she's the best trainer I've ever had and I learned so much from her! Because of her training I now feel confident knowing what workouts I need to do, how to do them both at home and at the gym. I'm so glad I found her on Yelp to help me reach all of my goals!!!"

"Monica is my very first personal trainer since the start of the pandemic. I am 25 years old and I work at a law firm so I gained a lot of weight from staying home almost everyday for the last six months. I started working with her in November and she really helped me both mentally and physically get back into shape. Monica is super fun, outgoing and honestly encouraging when it comes to creating exercises that are right for you. My first session with her involved a fitness assessment and Monica was super informative and helped me understand the fitness goals we were trying to obtain.
I really enjoy our fitness sessions together and more importantly- her rate is affordable. She's really incredible to work with and I hope to work with her for a very long time even after I reach my weight goal. I used to never like going to the gym because I felt grossed out by how many people use equipment but don't clean or sanitize after each use. But with Monica, she sanitizes between clients and you wear a mask during your workout session. This has not only lowered my anxiety of going to the gym but also kept me motivated to keep seeing her. When I started working with her, I weighed 157. Just after a month of working with her, I now weigh 150.

"I've had a few personal trainers over the years but Monica is by far the best. She is attentive to your goals but doesn't push you to a point where you could be injured or unmotivated to continue. She also will help you train in the areas you enjoy most and is really versatile in her knowledge of workouts. For example, I love boxing so she will try to incorporate that in to our workouts if possible. I've never gone to a session and been bored with what we do. In fact, I actually look forward to workouts whereas before I may have dreaded them.
Her gym is located within her home so not only is it cozy, it is the complete opposite of intimidating. It has a lot of different types of equipment and I've never felt uncomfortable while training with her because I'm not in an overcrowded gym. Parking is always available and close by to her home so you don't have to stress about finding a spot.
As for concerns with safety regarding Covid, I feel really safe working out with her. She wears her mask the entire time and has you wear your mask as well. Every time I've worked out with her during the pandemic, she had hand sanitzer ready, wiped down or disinfected her equipment, and was mindful of space.

"I had four months to train for a week-long backpacking trip so I did some research on personal trainers and contacted Monica. Great choice: I loved working out with her! Because it was COVID, we did all our sessions over FaceTime. Not the way I'd typically like to do personal training, but Monica made it work. We met weekly to work out together where she was able to see my form over video, would create a schedule for me for the week, and was available for check ins throughout the week. My routine was laser focused on getting me ready for the trip and Monica explained why I needed to do X and Y but not Z. She was also really supportive in commenting on my progress related to *strength* and not looks, which as someone with a history of body dysmorphia, really worked for me and was much appreciated. I only needed to purchase minimal equipment to make things easier to do the home workouts (a few sets of dumbbells and a set of resistance bands, though I'm sure she would've come up with something else if equipment wasn't in the cards for me). Now, two weeks after the trip, I can confidently say Monica got me completely ready to accomplish this big life goal. "I've never been one to do any formal exercising, but now at 65 and with no core strength, I finally decided to give it a try and found Monica.
